Systems

Systems provide a higher-level structure for organizing modules and cost logic.

They help answer questions like:

  • what part of the building does this belong to
  • how should related modules be grouped
  • how should cost be summarized at a meaningful level

Systems make Darwin easier to navigate, review, and analyze across projects and eventually across cost control dashboards.

  • use systems consistently across related modules
  • keep system definitions understandable by both estimators and reviewers
  • use systems as part of a reporting and variance structure, not only as labels
