Instances & Access

Darwin is built around customer instances.

An instance represents the environment in which a team stores its users, projects, documents, and cost knowledge.

A person may:

  • belong to one instance
  • belong to multiple instances
  • have different responsibilities depending on the instance context

Users commonly enter Darwin through invitation-based onboarding.

Access is tied to membership in a specific instance.

Some users manage access inside an instance, while platform-level admins manage the broader environment.

This access model is part of Darwin’s platform architecture, not just a login detail.
