Use Cost Control

Open Cost Control from My Organization. The Portfolio tab lists projects that can be tracked, including their budget, actual costs, variance, status, and open learning findings.

Use All, Following, or Recent (30 days) to focus the list, then select a project to open its tracking detail.

The project tracking detail organizes work into these tabs:

Tab Use it to
Cost Groups Review grouped costs, add an actual-cost entry, and record commitments.
Budget Evolution See how the tracked budget changed through baseline updates.
Variance Report Compare actual costs with the baseline and review findings.
Pending Approvals Review cost entries awaiting sign-off for this project.
Files Access project evidence and supporting documents.

Add actual costs and commitments from Cost Groups. Their effect becomes visible in the project’s cost groups and in the portfolio totals.

Open the Learning tab in Cost Control to work through variance findings that need a resolution. Resolve a finding by recording the appropriate outcome, such as updating a module, documenting an assumption, changing a pricing practice, or accepting a variance.

Use the linked module, price list, or estimation to make the improvement behind the resolution. This is how execution feedback improves future estimates.

Note: Pending Approvals in project Cost Control means pending cost entries. It is different from the task and Work Requests label, which refers to approval-type work requests.
